Tierra y Sangre is a multimedia portrait that explores the nature of puertorriqueñidad as expressed in the lives of Puerto Ricans on the archipelago and in the diaspora. Through poetry, biography, and photography, we hope to capture these stories and create a portrait as complex and rich as the island itself.

As members of the Puerto Rican diaspora, our job is not to tell one story, but instead to lend our voices to the stories of others.

Tierra y Sangre

Ni de Aquí. Ni de Allá.

Vol. 1

Ni de Aquí. Ni de Allá. is the first volume in an ongoing series—a poetry and photography zine by Ryan Díaz and Julián Bracero that explores puertorriqueñidad beyond borders, myths, and fixed definitions. Through intimate poems and evocative images, the zine traces identity as lived experience—migration, memory, language, grief, joy, and inheritance—rooted in tierra y sangre. From Queens to Borikén, jíbaros to airport terminals, this inaugural volume offers a portrait of a people told through particular bodies and stories. No answers—only voices. No myths—only truth.

*All proceeds from the purchase of this Zine will go toward supporting Adopt a Grandparent, a collaboration between PRXPR and The Happy Givers in Puerto Rico, who work to support our elders by providing fresh meals, transportation, health workshops, free shopping, and cultural activities that keep our viejitos connected.
